Salamanca will now have a single business organization after the union between CES and CEOE-CEPYME, as announced late in the afternoon of this Monday, April 20, CEOE-CEPYME.
After a meeting held this afternoon, the Board of Directors of CEOE-CEPYME Salamanca announces an agreement that it considers “specially relevant”, they say, to “move towards a more cohesive, solid representation with greater capacity to defend the interests of the entire Salamanca business community.”
The Salamanca Business Confederation (CES) is dissolved and integrated into CEOE-CEPYME, promoting a single candidacy for the next elections of the Chamber of Commerce of Salamanca, made up of businessmen belonging to CEOE-CEPYME Salamanca, led by businessman Alberto DĂaz.
With this pact, the intention is to open a new stage presided over by “unity, institutional stability and the sum of efforts.”
However, CEOE-CEPYME declares that “the full effectiveness of this process is subject to the subsequent formal incorporation into the confederation of the appropriate associations and businessmen.” A process that, they assure, “will not entail changes in the current statutes of CEOE-CEPYME Salamanca”, but that may lead to the expansion of the number of members of the Executive Committee, with between three and five new incorporations depending on the final number of associations and businessmen that are integrated.
The president of CEOE-CEPYME Salamanca, Paulino Benito, highlighted that “today we take an important step to close a period of division that has weakened the voice of Salamanca’s businesspeople for too long” and that “this agreement allows us to look forward responsibly. Salamanca needs an even stronger, cohesive business organization focused on what is important, which is defending companies, self-employed workers and business associations in the province.”
In relation to the Chamber of Commerce, he pointed out that “unity must also be transferred to those institutions in which an important part of the present and economic future of Salamanca is decided.”
