The traditional livestock and local products fair returns to Barruecopardo

Barruecopardo is preparing to host the CXLIV edition of the San Felipe Livestock Fair on May 1 and 2, an already consolidated event that each year brings together neighbors and visitors around traditions, culture and local products.

The first day, the one dedicated entirely to the livestock and agricultural tradition, will start at 10:30 am in the Cardadal Valley with the official celebration of the livestock fair. Throughout the morning, the program will continue with the inauguration of the painting exhibition by JosƩ Manuel Guarido Mateos in the City Hall assembly hall, followed by the opening of the XXVIII Fair of Samples and Land Products in the tent on Carreros Street.

In the central hours of the day, showcooking will take place by chef David Monaguillo. In addition, attendees will be able to enjoy a demonstration of traditional shearing and a performance by the Civil Guard cynological group in the Cardadal Valley.

The gastronomic offer will also take center stage with a cheese and wine tasting from Las Arribes at the fairgrounds. The morning will be completed with the performance of the Paleo de Barruecopardo folkloric group in the Plaza Mayor and the presentation of distinctions to the University of Salamanca and prominent residents of the municipality.

In the afternoon, the activity will continue with a handball match between first division teams from Castilla y León and the Basque Country at the municipal fronton. In the evening, music will be the protagonist with a festival by the ā€œLa Searchā€ orchestra.

Finally, Saturday’s day will be dedicated to music. At 5:30 p.m. there will be an afternoon with a mobile disco in the Plaza Mayor. For those who want to continue the party, at 00:00 at night, in the same place, the mobile disco will continue until well into the early hours of the morning.
