Great reception at the talk on the impact of biogas on the environment in Castellanos de Villiquera

The ‘Stop biogas’ Platform of Castellanos de Villiquera has achieved a full house in the informative talk organized in the town to explain how these plants affect the environment. They assure that “the call exceeded all attendance expectations. The room was completely full, making it necessary to provide more chairs due to the high influx of neighbors and interested people. The doors were even kept open to facilitate the participation of those who could not access the interior of the room due to the large attendance.”

During the meeting, it was explained how biogas plants work and their possible environmental, social and health impacts in rural environments. Among other aspects, discomfort derived from persistent odors, increase in heavy traffic, risks linked to waste management and concern about health conditions, air quality and water pollution were mentioned. After the presentation, an open and participatory debate was generated.
