The Salamanca City Council presented this Thursday within the framework of the technological event Salamanca Tech Summit, the âTalentumâ networka new initiative aimed at ⊠young people with the aim of promoting their professional and personal development in the city, as well as facilitating their connection with the business community. The project was born after the recent approval of the fifth Municipal Youth Plan, in which employment, training and housing were detected as the main concerns.
The Councilor for Economic Promotion and Youth, Pedro MartĂnez, He highlighted that this proposal is âa network and a communityâ where young people can share concerns, promote projects and access opportunities both locally and in other ecosystems.
In this sense, the councilor stressed that Salamanca âIt is a city that trains talentâin addition to having significant potential thanks to its two universities and a student population of close to 40,000 students, which makes the city a âdifferentialâ environment for the development of talent.
As he explained during his speech, the initiative is structured around three main axes: detect, activate and connect young talent. On the one hand, the aim is to identify young people trained in the city to avoid the drain of talent; On the other hand, training activities and practical experiences will be promoted; and, finally, contact with companies and job opportunities will be facilitated.
«Today companies have a very important habitat and it is talent, qualified talent, young talent trained for these new jobs that are being reinvented every day. We want the largest possible percentage to stay in the city of Salamanca » »explained the councilman.
âTalentumâ will be based at the Tormes Plus Entrepreneurship and Training Center. In addition, the City Council allocates 500,000 euros for its financing, which is used in scholarships to support training in companies and the development of entrepreneurial initiatives.
The project is part of a broader strategy that includes the creation of new spaces such as the Youth Innovation Centerin the Garrido Youth House, yel City of Talent Centerlocated in the building of the old Lazarillo de Tormes hostel, with the aim of consolidating an ecosystem that favors the permanence of qualified young people in Salamanca.
