This is what the members of the polling stations will earn in the next elections in Castilla y León

The Government Council has approved, at the proposal of the Ministry of the Presidency, two agreements linked to the preparation of the next elections to the Cortes of Castilla y León: the instruction manual for the people who will make up the polling stations, and the decree that regulates the allowances and bonuses of the personnel who will provide services during the electoral process.

The standard establishes the compensation regime for the different groups that intervene in the electoral process and perform relevant functions that are not part of their ordinary remuneration. Among them are the members of the electoral boards, the collaborating staff, the representatives of the Administration, the staff of the town councils and other public employees who participate in tasks linked to the organization and development of the elections, as well as the members of the electoral tables, for whom compensation of €76.41 is provided. The decree takes into account the specific characteristics of the electoral process, which will be held without competition with other elections.

The amounts incorporate the updating of compensation in accordance with the different remuneration increases approved for personnel serving the Government of Castilla y León since the last regional elections. Likewise, the decree guarantees coverage of the risks derived from the participation of the members of the electoral tables during the exercise of their functions.

For its part, the instruction manual for the people who make up the polling stations, supervised by the Central Electoral Board and approved by the Junta de Castilla y León, is intended to facilitate the correct performance of the functions that correspond to the presidency and the polling station members throughout election day.

The document offers a clear and orderly guide to the actions that must be carried out from the constitution of the table first thing in the morning until the completion of the count and the delivery of the electoral documentation. It includes instructions on the verification of the material, the conduct of the vote, the identification of voters, the closing of the polling stations, the counting of the votes and the completion of the official records.

Likewise, the manual incorporates guidance on the receipt of credentials from auditors and representatives, the public order rules applicable during election day, and the different models of official forms that must be used, with the aim of guaranteeing legal certainty and the homogeneity of procedures in all polling stations in the Community.

With the approval of these two agreements, which will be published next week in the Official Gazette of the Community, the Junta de Castilla y León advances in the administrative organization of the 2026 regional elections.
