The town of Cabrerizos yesterday successfully celebrated the VI Book Faira cultural day that brought together neighbors from all … ages in the Plaza de Cabrerizos. The good weather was good from early in the morning and favored the participation of children and adults throughout the day.
At 11:00 a.m. the opening took placewith the presence of different local bookstores, as well as the Berta Pallares municipal library and various solidarity initiatives such as Insolamis and Save the Children. Minutes later, the mayor, Claudio del RĂo, officially inaugurated the fair.
During his speech, he highlighted that “inauguring this event is not just opening the doors of a physical venue; “It is opening a window to critical thinking, to the overflowing imagination and to the knowledge that makes us free.” He also stressed that “despite screens and immediacy, the book remains our most powerful tool.”
The tomorrow continued with children’s workshops aimed at children from four years old, while at 1:00 p.m. the public enjoyed the storyteller “The Book of Damn Brats”by Kamaru Teatro.
The programming was completed in the afternoon with the Luis and Company concert in the municipal assembly hall, putting the finishing touch to a day that once again demonstrated the value of reading as a cultural and social meeting point in the municipality. Del RĂo added that the fair “is the place where a child discovers his first hero, where a young person finds words for his feelings and where adults rediscover that there is always something new to learn.”
