The Salamanca City Council increases funding to associations that work with people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) by 40% this year, reaching a total of 95,000 euros in 2026. The measure seeks to guarantee full inclusion and improve the quality of life of people with autism and their families.
The funds will be allocated to projects that promote social participation, autonomy and the development of skills, such as the training of specialized teachers, personal assistance for meaningful activities, socio-labor insertion programs and psychological and speech therapy support. The transition to adult life is also promoted through individual work itineraries and dual training in companies in the city.
In addition, the City Council provides physical spaces for the associations, Ariadna will expand its day center in Pizarrales, Fundaneed will have a location in the Luis Vives Integrated Municipal Center, and Asperger Salamanca and AIPA will have facilities in the House of Associations.
The local administration has implemented other accessibility and well-being measures at municipal events, such as “days without music” at fairs and festivals, and noise-free spaces at the Three Kings Parade, thus reinforcing inclusion and equal opportunities for people with ASD.
