Chabela de la Torre, number one candidate for Salamanca de Nueve Castilla y León in the regional elections on March 15, visited the town of Lumbrales this Wednesday to present the main programmatic lines of her formation with the aim of promoting economic development and improving services in the area.
During this event, De la Torre highlighted the potential of the municipality, but that it should grow more if there was more investment.
In this sense, he has also denounced the deficiencies in essential services that slow down the growth of the region. For this reason, it has presented a program structured in six blocks: Health, Rural, Transport and connectivity, Housing and employment, Tourism and Seniors.
Regarding health, he highlighted the necessary reinforcement of pediatrics, as well as the need to guarantee the stable presence of medical and nursing personnel. Furthermore, he has highlighted the improvement of medical transport and the ambulance service as essential.
Their proposals for the countryside have been more generic, applicable to other areas of the province, such as the development of their own agricultural policy, a simplification of regulations or the defense of products from Castilla y León against the agreement with Mercosur.
Regarding transport and connectivity, he has promised an improvement in regular lines, as well as the reinforcement of on-demand transport; solution, in his opinion, to combat isolation and facilitate access to basic services.
Regarding housing, he has proposed the rehabilitation of empty homes for youth rental or tax incentives, while he has spoken of direct investments in local infrastructure to promote tourism.
In closing, he pointed out that it is necessary to reinforce the home help service, as well as implement its own geriatrics service at the Lumbrales health center.
