Guijuelo kicks off the VIII Gastronomic Fair

The mayor of Guijuelo, Roberto Martín, has inaugurated the VIII Gastronomic Fair during the afternoon of this Friday, February 27, in the Municipal Tent of the Plaza Mayor. The event was attended by the mayor of Pinhel, Daniela Capelo, among other members of the Portuguese city council corporation.

As in past editions, the inauguration has served as an excuse to celebrate the culinary contest ‘From the pig to the walk’. Rebeca Rodríguez has emerged as the winner with its proposal ‘Macaron Ibérico’, which has received 86 points from the jury. The podium was completed by María José Hernández, with ‘Cornetes ibéricos’, and Rebeca María Antonia Díaz, with ‘Rabitos picantones’.

Besides, chef David Monaguillo and the students of the Salamanca Hospitality School have offered a tasting of Iberian pastrami and fried ear with pink sauce, cauliflower cream and pumpkin. Preparations that will give way to cheeses, jams, honey, sweets and wines that visitors will be able to try throughout this weekend.
