The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN) puts the alert on several batches of grated cheeses from Alteza (Supermercados Lupa’s own brand), Albéniz and Froiz due to the “possible presence of foreign bodies, wood chips”.
The products involved are:
- ‘Grated gouda cheese’ from Lupa (Alteza brand) with lot number 2426026; expiration date 06/05/2026; weighing 200 grams; and with refrigerated temperature.
- ‘Grated gouda cheese’ from the Albéniz brand with lot number 2426026; expiration date 06/05/2026; weight of 1 kilo; and with refrigerated temperature.
- ‘Grated mozzarella and provolone cheese’ from the Froiz brand with lot number 2426026; expiration date 06/05/2026; weight 200 grams; and with refrigerated temperature.
The notice was notified on the afternoon of this Monday, February 23, through the Coordinated System for Rapid Information Exchange (SCIRI) after a notification sent by the health authorities of Comunidad Fotal de Navarra, one of the autonomous communities where they have been distributed these products, as in Andalusia, Cantabria, Castilla-La Mancha, Castile and León and Galicia (not ruling out other places).
The AESAN recommends that consumers who have some of these affected products refrain from consuming them.
