The CSIF union section in Salamanca has warned about the serious worsening of the working conditions of Correos employees in the province, caused by the implementation of new organizational models, the lack of personnel and the increase in commercial pressures.
Among the main problems, CSIF points out the implementation of the “Last Mile” distribution model, which has been implemented without negotiation. This reorganization expands the routes assigned to each postman, increasing the daily workload, the distances traveled and the physical effort of the employees.
As explained by CSIF, this situation is compounded by the lack of coverage for retirements, sick leave and vacations. The workforce, especially in rural areas, is forced to continually take on additional tasks, which affects both their occupational health and the quality of the postal service.
CSIF also denounces the pressure that workers receive to sell AXA insurance, even above and beyond their usual distribution and customer service tasks, generating a climate of constant tension and stress.
The union organization also criticizes the restrictions on private matters and vacations. As they state for 2026, it has been announced that no more than three postmen from the same vacation delivery section will be able to coincide, “limiting work and family conciliation.”
CSIF Correos Salamanca demands the negotiation of the “Last Mile” model to avoid overload and inequality in distribution. It also demands immediate coverage of retirements, sick leave and vacations to guarantee a complete workforce.
The organization calls for eliminating commercial pressures, ensuring that the sale of insurance does not interfere with the postal service, and that days for private affairs and vacations are respected, favoring work and family conciliation.
Likewise, CSIF calls for realistic work planning that protects the health of employees and maintains the quality of public service.
