Neighbors of La Alberca assure that “they will take the necessary legal measures” to stop the location of the clean point chosen by the City Council

The location of the La Alberca clean point has unleashed a wave of disagreements with the town council among the residents of the Río La Llana urbanization.

A week after the first notice about the neighborhood outrage, which already published this medium on January 22and after a meeting held with Miguel Ángel Luengo, mayor of the municipality, the neighbors once again expressed their concern.

Through a statement sent to Salamanca24horas, they express that “they will take the necessary legal measures to stop the location of a clean point next to their homes” and assure that after the meeting with Luengo and in the absence of a “satisfactory solution”, the neighbors have met again on their own and have made the joint decision to resort to legal advice.

They insist that they are not against the existence of a clean point in the town, but they ask that it be located in another place further away from the urban area, respecting the technical, environmental and safety criteria, in addition to what was previously said by the Town Council itself, which according to the neighbors when they went to live in this urbanization “it already had signs posted clearly reflecting that it was an area where the waste dump was closed and therefore it is prohibited to bring garbage and debris.” Now, however, they regret that “the city council gives up the land so that the clean point can be located.” Hence the disagreement of the neighbors.

The installation of this clean point would be just 12 meters from several of the homes in Río La Llana, which is why its inhabitants demand “dialogue and alternatives” from the city council to “achieve the relocation of the project.”
