“I have killed my wife, she is not breathing”

During the afternoon of this Monday, the trial for the Béjar crime continued. For just over two hours, the agents, both from the National Police and the Local Police, who intervened on the day of the events, have testified.

All the officials who had contact with the accused the morning of the events have stated in court that he repeated, over and over again, “I have killed my wife, she is not breathing.”

Likewise, they have declared that he did not present symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol or any narcotic substance; “He moved very easily, he had a coherent speech, although he was nervous,” they alleged.

On the other hand, it is notable, and several agents have wanted to state this in their statements, that the confessed murderer was afraid of going to Topas. In fact, one of the agents has reported that he even asked them for help to avoid going to the Salamanca prison.

During his transfer from the viaduct to the police station, spontaneously and crying, ARLZ confessed to the agents that “he had gone crazy and had strangled his wife.”

The accused added, as stated by one of the agents, that the victim had initially hit him with an ashtray.

The agents present at the home where the events took place, on the other hand, have stated that the door was closed and that the help of firefighters was required to gain access.

Once inside, and after searching the house, they found the lifeless body of the victim lying on the floor of the room. After confirming that there was no pulse, the judicial committee was notified.

One of the latest statements corresponded to an agent of the Judicial Police. The official has acknowledged before the court that she knew Charo, since she had been followed in violence with another couple, but not with the accused and that he had no previous complaints from the victim.
