The president of the Board, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco, has demanded that the Minister of Health, Mónica García, “immediately” withdraw the Medical Statute that has caused, from today and throughout the week, health professionals to call a strike that “citizens will suffer.”
“What the minister has to do she does not do, and what she does is provoke a strike whose consequences will be suffered by all public health users throughout Spain,” he argued in response to questions from the media after visiting the facilities of the company ‘Moggaro Aluminum Yachts’.
The head of the regional Executive has asked the head of the health portfolio to do a “reflection” after the strike called “unanimously” against the Framework Statute. Hence, he has demanded that he withdraw “immediately” and open “a real negotiation with health professionals.”
Likewise, he has demanded that the Government of Spain make more specialist doctors available to the autonomous communities, as it is – as he has defended – a state competence.
