Next Sunday, February 1, 2026, Salamanca will host the XXXI Don Bosco Popular Race – Salamanca, one of the most consolidated sports and social events in the city, which will once again fill the Pizarrales neighborhood with life, sports and coexistence, with its epicenter around the Salesianos Pizarrales School and Avenida de Salamanca.
The test, organized by the Don Bosco Popular Race Organization – Salesianos Pizarrales Youth Center, will begin at 10:30 am and will bring together around 1,400 runners, exceeding 1,500 people if the involvement of volunteers, organization and collaborators is taken into account. A day that will once again stand out for its popular, family-friendly, educational and inclusive nature, and that year after year has become a benchmark in the Salamanca sports calendar.
Under the motto “We run together the history that gives life”, the thirty-first edition highlights the tradition of more than three decades, the prominence of the Pizarrales neighborhood and the Salesian values inspired by Don Bosco, where sport becomes a tool for encounter, education and coexistence between generations.
The Don Bosco Popular Race has a wide range of categories for all ages, with notable participation by children and youth, as well as adapted tests, which reinforces its inclusive nature. In this edition, the participation of runners from Salamanca capital, the province and other locations is expected, as well as the presence of sports clubs from Portugal, a fact that once again highlights the attractiveness and projection of the event.
One of the most notable aspects of the test is that registration is completely free, reaffirming its popular spirit and facilitating the participation of all citizens. All updated information, as well as the complete routes for each category, can be consulted on the official website www.carreradonbosco.es.
The organization wants to underline the important festive atmosphere that will be experienced throughout the morning, with animation, music and parallel activities, as well as the special character of this edition, in which the Salesian communities have come together in a special way, and which will include moments of recognition and tribute.
The event will be possible thanks to the work of a large team of volunteers, as well as the collaboration of different institutions and entities, including the Salamanca City Council, the Local Police and Civil Protection, in addition to the support of numerous companies and sponsors that make this sporting and social event possible.
From the organization, they encourage all citizens to participate both as runners and as members of the public, and to enjoy a morning in which sport, coexistence and shared values will once again be the true protagonists.
The XXXI Don Bosco Popular Race is presented, once again, as an essential event for Salamanca, a race that unites generations, neighborhoods and hearts, and that continues to write, step by step, a story that gives life.
