Those accused of exploiting Chinese women in a brothel on Portugal Avenue sentenced to more than 10 years in prison

The Provincial Court of Salamanca has handed down a sentence, sentencing the two accused of exploiting Chinese women in a brothel on Portugal Avenue to sentences that, together, add up to more than 10 years in prison.

JAS is sentenced to 3 years for two crimes of human trafficking in competition with coercive prostitution adding, in total, 6 years in prison.

In addition, restraining orders and prohibition of communication are imposed on him, and he cannot come within 250 meters of the witnesses protected by a period of 5 years.

After serving his prison sentence, he has been sentenced to 4 years of probation.

The woman, for her part, will comply 4 years and 6 months in prison for two crimes of coercive prostitution. Added to this is that, for a period of 13 months, you must pay a daily fee of 6 euros and, for every two unpaid installments, one day in prison will be added.

As far as restraining orders and prohibition of communication are concerned, the duration will be 4 years and supervised release, once released from prison, will be maintained for 3 years.

Likewise, each of them must pay 8,000 euros as compensation to the victims.



Chinese sexual exploitation trial


Victims had to be available 24 hours a day

It should be remembered that the apartment in which women of Chinese origin were sexually exploited was dismantled by agents of the National Police of Salamanca, led by the Immigration Operational Group, the October 15, 2024.

As the court has considered proven, the main accused, a woman of Chinese nationality currently missing and on which European and international arrest warrants have been issued since October 2024, was the leader of an activity of sexual exploitation of Chinese women transferred to Spain, being deceived with fake job offers.

As stated in the letter, at least since mid-2019 and during 2023 and 2024, several women in a situation of economic need were transferred from China to Salamanca with the promise of working in sectors such as aesthetics, hospitality or restaurants. However, upon arrival in the capital of Tormes they were forced into prostitution in the apartment on Portugal Avenue, subjecting themselves to conditions of permanent control through surveillance cameras.

The victims had to remain available 24 hours a daywith outings limited to one hour a day, and responding to any request from clients, even if they requested unprotected sexual relations. Of the services provided, the victims They only received 50% of the amount paid by clients.

The judicial resolution places the accused JAS, the former partner of the escaped accused, as a collaborator in the plot since at least 2021 until October 2024. During that period, the man would have transferred women from the Madrid airport to the apartment, installing surveillance cameras and facilitated movements to guarantee the practice of prostitution.

Likewise, the accused LW took office during the month of October 2024 management functions on the floorin charge of customer service, collection of sexual services and distribution of the money obtained among the victims.

The activity would have generated income close to 180,000 euros during the year 2023, exceeding 23,000 euros in some months, according to the documentation intervened in the police search carried out on October 15, 2024.

LW remains in provisional prison since that date, while JAS, for his part, was released after paying bail days later.
