The TSJCyL annuls the Castilla y León Wild Boar Management Plan by exceeding the scope of hunting

He Superior Court of Justice of Castilla y León (TSJCyL) has canceled the Wild Boar Management Plan in the region after the appeal presented by Ecologists in Action. “The autonomous Administration attempted to validate the plan only with the approval of the Hunting Commission, arguing that it was a purely hunting issue,” the naturalist group defends.

The court points out that the management of the wild boar has “transverse character”given that affects road safety, public health or agriculture. It also considers it excessive that the Plan has an indefinite validity when “there is no alarming, worrying or extreme situation.”

Ecologists in Action celebrates the decision of the TSJCyL to put a stop to this “disastrous” management of the natural environment and advocates for an administration based on “scientific, conservation, protection and sustainability criteria.”
