The scientists of tomorrow compete in Salamanca to be the best research project

More than 500 Compulsory Secondary Education students from 17 centers in Salamanca and Zamora experienced a fun day this Tuesday whose objective was to be the winning project of the two final galas of the ‘Women who change the USAL’ program.

An initiative that this year reaches its sixth edition and is included within the activities of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, organized by the Scientific Culture and Innovation Unit of the University of Salamanca.

In the first of the two galas, the one held this Tuesday, IES Mateo Hernández was the winner for his work ‘Your language leaves a mark. Experimental analysis of the articulation of speech sounds’, proposed by researcher Alba Aguete.

Previously, a group of 75 USAL researchers have guided the participating classes, in the educational centers themselves, to develop small research projects. It all began with the collection of data and results, before drawing joint conclusions that were later reflected in the works that participated in the gala.

In this first gala, the third and fourth year ESO students from the IES Mateo HernĂĄndez centers, the Colegio San Estanislao de Kostka, the IES Venancio Blanco, the Colegio Santa Teresa de JesĂșs, the Colegio Maristas Champagnat, the CEO Alto AlagĂłn, the IES Poeta Claudio RodrĂguez and the CEO of Coreses presented their work.
