The Auditorium of the Professional Conservatory of Music of Salamanca will host this Friday at 8:00 p.m. a musical proposal that aims to draw a sound bridge through the last 120 years. Under a premise of stylistic diversity, the program is divided into two sections that will take the viewer from the technical experimentation of the most recent contemporary music to the bohemian atmosphere of the cabaret of the last century.
The first part of the concert will be focused on the instrumental avant-garde by the prestigious Trío Contrastes. The block stands out for its strong commitment to current creation, including works signed in this same year 2025, such as Lacht Dust by Sebastián Izquierdo and Fragmentossuspendos by Mª José Arrillaga.
Along with them, Ultramar (2015) by Juan Manuel Ruiz will be performed, forming a showcase of contemporary Spanish authors that is complemented by the international perspective of Paul Lansky and his work Horizons, and the duo for violin and marimba Souvenirs du Berceau by the German Eckhard Kopetzki.
After this journey through languages that, at times, draw on the procedures of electroacoustic music, the second half of the event will offer an absolute change of register.
The soprano Cristina Teijeiro, accompanied on the piano by José María Mezquita, will transport the audience to the seductive world of cabaret in the first half of the 20th century. Through a careful selection of songs by iconic figures such as Erik Satie, Kurt Weill and William Bolcom, the evening will close with the melodic and theatrical character of this historical genre.
The appointment will have free entry until capacity is reached.
