The PP says that Sánchez is the “great loser” of 8F and does not make self-criticism after Azcón’s setback in Aragón

The general secretary of the PP, Miguel Tellado, assured this Sunday that the head of the Executive, Pedro Sánchez, is the “big loser” in the Aragon elections, after his candidate, Pilar Alegría, has lost five seats with respect to the May 2023 elections. However, he has not made self-criticism after the decline of the Aragonese PP, which has gone from 28 to 26 deputies and has not reduced its dependence on Vox, a party that doubles its results. up to 14 seats.

“We believe that we live in a democracy, the one who wins is the one who gets the most votes and today the one who emerged victorious from the polls is called Jorge Azcón and the Popular Party. And today, if there is a loser, it is the Socialist Party and that loser has names and surnames: his name is Pedro Sánchez,” Tellado declared at a press conference at the PP headquarters.

The PP leader has pointed out that the PSOE has presented Pilar Alegría, “the minister spokesperson” for “lies” and “corruption,” in these elections. “And the result is another defeat for Sánchez. Pedro Sánchez is officially the biggest loser in Spanish politics,” he added, to emphasize that the PSOE is “very affected.”

“Change in Spain is closer today than yesterday”

After ensuring that “change in Spain is closer today than yesterday”, he stressed that in this electoral cycle the Popular Party has won “the Andalusian elections, the regional elections, the municipal elections, the general elections, the Galician elections, the European elections, the Extremadura elections and today the Aragonese elections.”

When asked if the PP is self-critical after losing two seats, Tellado stressed that the PP has won and has more seats than “the entire left combined in Aragon”, something that is “a cause for satisfaction.”

That said, he has indicated that the PP will continue working to build an alternative for the future in Spain. “To the judicial drain that Pedro Sánchez faces is now added an electoral drain,” he concluded.
