The mayors of the regions of Cantalapiedra and Las Villas ask for more resources after the wave of robberies

Several mayors of the regions of Cantalapiedra and Las Villas have held a meeting in Palaciosrubios after the latest cases of robberies in the area, some of them with violence, such as the one on the 21st when a woman was gagged and tied up in Palaciosrubios.

From the Villoria City Council they have assured that they know “that the situation of the Civil Guard in our posts is difficult, since they barely have personnel and increasingly fewer means of all kinds” and therefore, they have decided to send a letter to ask the Government Subdelegation in Salamanca for more members of the Civil Guard and more means. Among these means would be the installation of cameras and surveillance systems in the municipalities “in order to provide more security to all of us who live in them and our property.”

They assure that they will propose to the administrations “that they help us financially to, together with the Civil Guard, provide surveillance systems that help deter and clarify the crimes that we are suffering.”

They also ask that, in the event that any theft occurs, regardless of whether the value of what was stolen is high or low, “062 be notified and the corresponding report be filed” since “if there are no notices to the Civil Guard, if there are no complaints, statistically and in reports we will give the impression of being very safe areas, which will mean fewer personnel and fewer means for our security.”
