The intense rains in Salamanca put the province on yellow alert this Thursday

The province of Salamanca will be on yellow alert this Thursday, February 5, from 00:00, which indicates that special care will have to be taken during this early morning and throughout the day.

In some cases, the 1-1-2 Emergency Service has warned about the flow of the rivers, which, being at such high levels, could exceed the limits and cause small floods in the territory of Salamanca, especially in the Central System of Salamanca and in the south of the Charra province.

As they have indicated from 1-1-2: “The river flows are very high and tomorrow rains are expected to be more intense in the provinces of Ávila and Salamanca. It is important to take extreme precautions and reinforce protection measures. See how to act in case of flooding.”

In addition, it should be noted that the yellow warning, in the Salamanca Plateau, will not be for rain, but for winds until 5:59 p.m. where the maximum gusts will reach 80 kilometers per hour with airs that will arrive from the southwest in general.

In the south of Salamanca, the warning will be for rain and wind, with accumulated rainfall in 12 hours of 40 millimeters without ruling out reaching 80 liters in some points. Additionally, winds could also reach 80 kilometers per hour.

In the case of the Central System, just as there will be a yellow warning for winds and rains with categories similar to those of the rest of the province, the thaws will have to be added until 12:00 noon.
