More than a hundred hikers walk through La Fregeneda among almond trees in bloom
The landscapes of Las Arribes have shown their best this Sunday. The La Fregeneda Hiking March has met expectations, bringing together more than a hundred people who did not want to miss the beauty of the flowering of the almond trees.
The mayor of the town, Manuel AlonsoI already anticipated it: the moment was ideal. “It is the first march in the area and we do it now to coincide with flowering, because Almond Tree Day does not always fit,” explained the mayor. According to Alonso, this image only lasts two weeks, so walkers have been able to enjoy what he defines as “the best” of the tree’s natural cycle.
The day, of a markedly sunny and springhas allowed attendees to capture the essence of an environment that, for a few days, changes green and brown for the white and pinkish flowers.
The edition had an added attraction: the inclusion of a part of the Iron Road. The tour of 9.5 kilometers and medium-low difficulty, it started from the town center to connect with the last section of the famous railway line, concluding at the dock of Vega Terrón.
