This Sunday, January 25, Guijuelo has successfully celebrated the first edition of its Canicrossan event that has managed to combine sport, contact with nature and coexistence with pets. Despite the enthusiasm of the participants, the organization was forced to make last-minute adjustments to the logistics of the test due to the bad weather alert.
To ensure the safety and well-being of both the runners and their dogs, the start and finish of the courses were moved to one of the FIC ships. The rest of the competition took place around the La Dehesa parkwhich became the main stage for this new sporting event in the town.
The event had strong institutional support, with the active participation of the mayor, Roberto Martintogether with the councilors Fermin Sanchez and Jesus Manuel Hernandezwho were part of the development of the day. Likewise, the event had a special aspect with the presence of Maria, the “soccer princess”who did not want to miss this opportunity to share a unique day between neighbors and their pets.
