Convicted of sending a letter with cocaine and cannabis to a prisoner in Topas

The Provincial Court of Salamanca has sentenced a man to one year and six months in prison for committing a drug trafficking crime; all of this, under the express consent of the accused himself.

The events date back, without there being any evidence of the exact date the sentence refers to, to some time between January and February 2021 when the convicted person, of legal age and with a criminal record, introduced 1.4 grams of cannabis resin and 0.25 grams of cocaine in a letter.

The letter, the writing reflects, was addressed to a Topas inmate.

However, the Salamanca prison officials managed to intercept the letter before it reached the prisoner’s hands.

As has been proven, the accused had his volitional capacity altered at the time of the action “due to the consumption of toxic drugs.”

In total, the price of the seized substances would have reached, according to the ruling, 35.91 euros on the illicit market.
