CB Arelsa was defeated by Somos Hijolusa by 45 to 51 in a match in which José Manuel Marcos made his debut at the head of the charro team but they could do nothing after a very good first quarter in which they went up 11 to 2.
Despite the defeat suffered, the team leaves with good feelings, as the coach indicated after the match and after picking up the baton from Javier Recio: “There are results that cannot be explained only with the final score, and this weekend’s game is the best example.”
It is worth remembering that the Salamanca team came into this match with injuries, a change of coaching staff and without having been able to complete training with the entire group, which has caused Arelsa to fall by seven points but with very good feelings like the start, where they managed to completely take their rivals off the field, scoring with ease and with very good defenses.
In the last quarter was when everything was resolved, but with players reaching a very good rhythm like Natalia González, with 29 points and a PIR of 20. Even so, the club is optimistic about the future: “CB Arelsa faces the next trip to León to face the Universidad de León with its head held high and its spirit reinforced.” Still, they remain at the top of the table.
