Adif temporarily reduces the maximum speed to 160 km/h on the Madrid-Barcelona line due to the presence of potholes

Adif temporarily reduces the maximum speed of trains on the Madrid-Barcelona line after the serious accident suffered in Adamuz this Sunday afternoon.

The speed has been reduced to 160 km/h at the request of the drivers due to the presence of potholes in a specific section. According to the Europa Press agency, the maintenance team will review that section and when everything is fine, the restriction will be lifted. In fact, it is known that some drivers decided to reduce speed on their own initiative when they noticed vibrations while driving.

These limitations affect a 148.1 kilometer section between Mejorada del Campo and Alhama de Aragón (Zaragoza) on an even track and a tunnel near Ariza (Zaragoza) at kilometer point 187 of the odd track line.
