“I don’t know what it’s like to collect 126 million, but distributing it is very exciting”

A ballot sealed in the small El Puente kiosk, located on Francisco Montejo Street in the Trastormesino neighborhood of Chamberí, in Salamanca, made a single winner of the Primitiva Lottery a millionaire last night with the largest jackpot in its history. “I don’t know what it’s like to collect 126 million, but distributing it is very exciting,” acknowledges the talismanic lottery player in statements to Ical after hearing the happy news.

Serafín Galocha runs, together with his wife, Marisa Miguel, the administration of Lottery number 64,750, located in a working-class neighborhood of the capital of Tormes. The winning combination of this Monday’s draw, formed by the numbers 5, 8, 23, 28, 40, 44, with 18 as a complement and reinstatement of six, was digitally assigned to his administration, he believes, by one of his clients.

The result, 126,496,236 euros in prize money. “Last night, if you saw us jumping at home. Our daughter was jumping…” Marisa remembers, clarifying that it was she, her daughter, who learned the news over the phone. A phone, by the way, that doesn’t stop ringing and that, according to what they say, hasn’t stopped all morning this Tuesday. A lot of media presence in a family kiosk that sells, among other things, daily bread.

The fact is that this couple, with years of experience in selling Lottery, also at Christmas, had never distributed such a prize. “Some friends who have shares in a fishing company once won 120 euros per tenth, about 78,000 euros in total. But, never like this,” acknowledges Serafín while collecting bread from a customer.

The kiosk owner assumes, in fact, that the winner must be one of them, that he must appear among his clientele although, for the moment, he has not appeared and his identity is unknown. “It is someone who has had to come here, or knows us, because he has registered with our administration number. It is as if he had come here, so it has to be someone who knows the point, therefore, someone close,” he argues.

The ticket was digitally stamped through Club Conmigo, of State Lotteries and Betting, which assigns a specific administration to the transaction.
