The organizers have described the regional phase of the III Olympics on the European Union held at the University of Salamanca as a “total success”.
This activity, organized by the Team Europe association in collaboration with the network of Europe Direct Centers of Castilla y León and financed by the Department of the Presidency of the Government of Castilla y León, has had the participation of 60 students from 12 educational centers in 8 of the 9 provinces of the Community and, they say, “it will be attempted that in future editions centers from all the provinces participate.”
The event, held within the USAL, has increased the interest that young people have not only in learning about the functioning of European institutions, but also in reflecting on the role that Spain plays in the European project. All this, framed in the 40th anniversary of its accession to the European Union.
As far as Salamanca representation is concerned, this was carried out by the Maristas Champagnat School, whose students participated in a parliamentary simulation that allowed them to learn first-hand how the European legislative process develops.
