This Sunday, the Civil Guard rescued three people who had been trapped in their vehicle due to the snow, on the road between Navacarros and the DSA-180, the climb to the winter resort of La Covatilla.
The notice was received around 2:00 p.m. and the COTA (Traffic Operational Center) of the Salamanca Civil Guard Command immediately activated the Béjar ATGC patrol, which managed to reach the place around 2:40 p.m., despite the poor condition of the road.
The people were rescued by the agents, who proceeded to remove the vehicle using a special assistance crane, without any personal injuries.
Incidents like these remind us of the importance of extreme caution in mountain areas and roads affected by snow and, also, of having forecasts on hand in case a similar episode occurs.
